Environmental non-migration: Analysis of drivers, factors, and their significance

This study explains environmental non-migration, and considers an inverse relationship between the factors related to migration. Results are based on empirical conducted in southwestern Bangladesh March April 2018. The results show that place attachment future non-migration decisions not significantly associated with cases of sudden onset events. However, most respondents better relationships their neighbors extended family members had chosen stay put. Other influence intention (i) access credit economic opportunities, (ii) residing a religious majority community, (iii) harmony (iv) lesser consequences hazards home, livelihood, (v) perception risk risk-taking ability. All these also help explain migration decisions. it is entirely conclusive all drive will despite or vice-versa. Thus, this suggests investigating more thorough insights into non-migrants so comprehensive resilience programs can be arranged for those at risk. At same time, essential avoid treating as exclusive categories and, perhaps certain extent, consider them dynamic intertwined processes.
